Engagement Photos at a Cocktail Bar in Denver
If you’re dreaming of lively and colorful engagement photos at a cocktail bar in Denver, Honey Elixir Bar is the perfect spot. Amy and Chandler wanted to spend their session doing things they love, while capturing both urban and mountain vibes in Denver. This is exactly why the engagement session included in my wedding packages is 2 hours long—we have plenty of time to capture multiple locations and create a memorable experience.
So, we started their session at Honey Elixir before heading over to Inspiration Point Park for sunset. When you’re done reading this post, you can check out the mountain portion of their engagement photos at the park!

Denver Engagement Session at Honey Elixir Bar
Amy and Chandler love spending time together in Denver, and Honey Elixir totally fit the vision for their session. We coordinated ahead of time with the manager, who was so hospitable towards us, to ensure they’d allow us to come in for their session. Pro tip: always call ahead of time to ask for permission to take photos in any establishment. Most bars are more than happy to accomodate engagement sessions, but usually you have to come in at a specific time and day of the week to accommodate their busy hours.
We grabbed a spot on the fun velvet couch, ordered some yummy cocktails, and then these two literally melted into each other. While I provided posing guidance and prompts as needed, their session really was like they were just on a date talking and laughing, being exactly who they always are when they’re together. That’s my hope and dream for every engagement session I get to capture!

Denver Engagement Photo Inspiration: Honey Elixir Edition
If you’ve been searching for engagement photo ideas in Denver and want something beyond the typical outdoor location, a cocktail bar is such a great option, or wherever your favorite date night spot is. Though I will say, Union Station in Denver is always an iconic choice for your engagement photos. Check out another session I captured where we went to a different cocktail bar, Union Lodge No. 1, then ended at Union Station.

Storytelling-Style Downtown Denver Engagement Sessions
If the thought of standing in a random field or posing stiffly inside a studio isn’t your thing, a storytelling-style engagement session will probably feel more natural. My approach focuses on places you actually love spending time in—the coffee shop you always go to on Saturday mornings, the brewery where you had your first date, or in Amy and Chandler’s case… a bar where they love grabbing cocktails together.
Your engagement photos shouldn’t look like everyone else’s. They should feel like your date night, or a celebration, or a snapshot of real life frozen in time.

Denver Engagement Photographer
Hi, I’m Logan—a Denver engagement photographer who loves creating sessions that feel honest, comfortable, and true to the way you love each other. If you two love taking your dog to the park, exploring the city, or trying new places together, we can absolutely build that into your engagement session. Whether that’s a cocktail bar, a bookstore, a neighborhood walk, or a mix of it all, your session should be something you’d do even if I wasn’t there.
You can book your experience-based engagement session starting at $600 for 2 hours, or bundle one with your Colorado wedding package. And if you want to add film photography, I offer 35mm film starting at $150.
If you want to see more engagement photos in Colorado, here’s a Fort Collins engagement session shot entirely on 35mm film, and here’s a diner session where I mixed digital and 35mm film photography.
Whenever you’re ready to start planning your Denver engagement photos— or a session anywhere in Colorado—fill out my contact form and I’ll be in touch within one business day. I can’t wait to hear about your ideas!
