Inspiration Point Park Engagement Session in Denver

If you’re dreaming of taking your Denver engagement photos in a location that has both mountain views and city vibes, you’re going to love Inspiration Point Park! In this blog, you’ll see Amy and Chandler’s gorgeous engagement session at Inspiration Point. They wanted a location near Denver that had a view of the front range without losing the urban touch of the mile high city and we found it!

They are truly such a fun-loving couple who are absolutely best friends. Getting to hang out with them for their engagement photos made me all that more excited to capture their wedding day at Lionsgate Event Center next year!

Engagement Photos in Denver with Mountain Views

There is lots of room to roam around at Inspiration Point Park and we wanted to utilize as much of the space as possible. We started out with a stroll through the leaves-covered ground and found a vibrant yellow tree (an unexpected surprise in mid-November!). You’ll see for yourself, but this scene felt straight out of a romance novel, or City Park in New York!

Inspiration for Your Denver Engagement Photos at Inspiration Point Park

We continued on our way toward the overlook and were immediately greeted with mountain views! We were shooting during golden hour and the golden hour was golden-houring if I do say so myself. If you are dreaming of mountain engagement photos in Colorado without the trip to a mountain town, this is the perfect location near Denver. You can save this blog post to your own Pinterest board as inspiration for your mountain engagement photos in Denver!

FAQ

How much is parking at Inspiration Point Park?

Parking is free and there is lots of it! You’ll want to go to the left through the yellow gates when you arrive to reach the parking lot. The right takes you to a roundabout and private property.

Is hiking required for our session?

Nope! There is a flat sidewalk all through the park. You can reach the overlook in less than 5 minutes from the parking lot (assuming you park all the way down at the end, as close to the park as possible).

How crowded is the park in the evening?

We were there on a Saturday afternoon in November and only ran into a handful of other people, including 1 other session. There is plenty of space to spread out, so it is definitely less crowded than most engagement photo locations on a Saturday.

Can I bring my dog for my engagement session at Inspiration Point Park?

You sure can! Just make sure to bring their leash. I always recommend dressing them up in a leather leash and collar set, or something to coordinate with your outfits. You may not want a neon yellow leash in your photos that will hang in your home!

Is a photography permit required?

At the time of this post, you don’t need a photography permit for an engagement session with just handheld equipment. You can read all about Denver Film and Photography Permits to see if one may apply to your shoot. It’s always best to check the latest permit information for yourself before finalizing your location as this is all subject to change at any time!

Storytelling Style Engagement Sessions

If the thought of picking a random field and posing for an hour isn’t appealing to you, you may be a good candidate for a storytelling style engagement session. What is this? Great question! This means that we will choose locations and activities that are sentimental to you for your session. You don’t have to pick from a list of “standard” locations and fit into a box.

Instead, let’s plan your next date night! Let’s go to the spot on campus where you first met, take your dog to the lake where you got engaged, or get matching tattoos because you are in this for life! Your engagement session should be fun and it should be meaningful. Amy and Chandler wanted to stay near Denver, the city that they love and have built their life together in, and also capture things they love to do together. For the other half of their session, they grabbed cocktails at Honey Elixir Bar! I created a post just for that portion because it deserved its own moment. Check out their cocktail bar engagement photos in Denver!

Hi, I’m Logan—a Denver engagement photographer with a passion for helping my couples feel at ease in front of the camera and bringing creative ideas to life! If you love to laugh, go on new adventures together, and are dreaming of engagement photos that are a true reflection of your relationship… I’d love to be your photographer. Most of my Colorado wedding packages include an engagement session, or you can book a standalone engagement session beginning at $600 for 2 hours.

I shoot primarily on digital, but you can add film photography onto your engagement session beginning at $150. Here is an engagement session in Fort Collins I shot entirely on 35mm film to see what this may look like! And here is a diner engagement session in Laporte where I shot on a mix of digital and 35mm film.
