Allegra and Dylan wanted a nostalgic, playful diner engagement session in Northern Colorado and Vern’s Place was their first choice. This diner in Laporte is one of their favorite spots to go together and they wanted their engagement photos to reflect something that’s genuinely meaningful to them. After seeing the Waffle House engagement session I photographed for Andy and Martha, they immediately knew they wanted that same kind of candid engagement session, but in a way that felt true to their own story.

I captured both digital and 35mm film photography throughout their session as they cuddled in a booth, cut into a cinnamon roll, and even re-created a “Lady and the Tramp” moment with a French fry. Their entire session was relaxed, nostalgic, and full of real memories in the making!

We grabbed a booth, ordered their snacks of choice, and let the session unfold like a real date (with creative direction from yours truly, so they never had to wonder where to put their hands). They were laughing within seconds, leaning into each other, and just fully themselves. The classic diner vibe of Vern’s Place with warm wood, old-school booths, and sunlight streaming through the windows really set the perfect scene for their engagement session.
